Former governor of Rivers state and minister of the federal capital territory, Abuja, Nyesom Wike, has posited that politicians cannot carry votes of one party to another party.
In selected trending videos on X, Wike is is heard saying “You carry the votes of one party to another party! Can you transfer votes? You worked hard for somebody to win election and tomorrow, he said he is defecting. If you are defecting to another party, leave the seat.”
In another video, Wike is quoted saying: “I will never leave PDP. I will never disappoint PDP. If I disappoint PDP I will never have peace in my life.”
“As a governor I will come and go. I can’t stop it. The day my tenure ends I go. I’m not going to impose anybody on this state. I will not do it. You see what is happening in Edo state, you what’s happening in Anambra state, even in Rivers state, did it not happen? There is nothing you can do, people will change.”
“If you put somebody in office and you think he will do as you want, then you must be joking in your life.”
“When I hear people declaring for APC, saying they want to continue the good work of Mr. President, the good job of people dying everyday, the good job of naira falling everyday, I feel so ashamed!!”
“We have gotten to the level where psycophancy has taken over people’s thinking system. People will say I want to continue the good job of Buhari. The good job of poverty, insecurity, hunger, fallen economy, that is too shameful.”
All these are quotes from Wike’s statement while he was governor of Rivers state. Now, he is doing contrary to the statement he made.
