I’ll worship you as my lord, lady who knees down to accept marriage proposal says

A lady, one Adaeze Gift Okolie, has been trending on the social media for some days. She is trending because she broke records. She did the reverse against the normal protocol which most ladies like her have always wanted when young men are proposing marriage to them.

A few weeks back, a young lady trended because her man refused to kneel down to propose to her. The lady went with rage saying it was unacceptable to her for her man not to kneel down while making proposal to her. She said that was the time the man will show her respect. After that she becomes the man’s. So, at the time of proposal, the man must go on his knees for her.

It was a big discourse on the social media but the lady stood her ground. For her, the man that must have her hand in marriage must knee down to propose to her if the proposal must be done in the public. She said there are other places where the proposal could be done but if in the public, it must be done to her taste.

Many people took her to the cleaners for standing her ground. Some said she would grow old if she is not willing to bend such archaic principles. But here is another lady by name Adaeze Gift Okolie. Her man was to knee down voluntarily to give her his proposal ring but she did not allow him to knee down, she rather lifted him up and said it ought to be the other way round.

For that singular action, she has been receiving commendations from all over the social media. Many hailed her for uncommon action. It was rare of a lady to tread the part she trod and many for that action described her as a virtuous woman and a good wife material. They said she is very humble and of great virtues.

In a post she made on facebook later, she explained why she took that part of honour. She said: “Don’t see me as a stupid person because I knelt down to accept his ring..he deserves it. You’re my KING..that’s why I knelt for you to crown me your queen. You overlooked all my imperfections..and still chose to be with me. IF I NO ACCEPT YOUR RING WETIN I GAIN.”

She said both of them met on facebook on July 24, 2018. She accepted the friendship request from him. She expressed gratitude for the friendship. She added that after seeing so many ladies, the young man still accepted to marry her. For that, she vowed to worship him as her lord.
