The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has presented a Certificate of Return to the Anambra State Governor-elect, Professor Chukwuma Soludo.
This is sequel to the emergence of the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, as the winner of the just concluded Governorship election.
Prof. Soludo, the candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, was declared winner of the November 6 election by INEC and APGA is currently ruling the State with Governor Willie Obiano.
The certificate was presented to him in Awka, the State Capital on Friday.
The presentation took place at the INEC office in Awka, the Anambra State Capital. His Deputy, Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim was also presented his certificate of return.
He won 19 of the 21 Local Governments Areas including Ihiala LGA which had its own election done on Tuesday.
The Governer-Elect polled 112,229 votes, thereby defeating his closest rivals, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party who polled 53,807 votes, Senator Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress who got 43,285 votes and Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressive Party who polled 21,261 votes.
Party members who trooped out to celebrate the former CBN governor have headed to Isuofia, his country home to continue the celebration.
