Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Olorogun Samson Gordons Okomitie has urged youths in Delta State to be facilitators of peace process and conflict resolution.
Samson Gordons in a message to Delta State youths on the occasion of the 2020 International Youth Day said youths are agents of development, saying with their energy they can promote development in all spheres of society.
He observed that every youth has the power to end crisis for the purpose of building a stronger future where there will be peace which will attract development, growth and progress.
Gordons maintained that Delta youths are hardworking but being hardworking alone is not enough they should be agents of peace and conflict resolution in their various places of abode.
He said: “The major thing that brings development is peace and that is why I am always preaching about peace in our state. When there is peace, development is bound to occur. Nobody will want to invest in a place where there is no peace.
“There are gains in being a facilitator of peace irrespective of the interest. Young people, community, religions youth leaders and other stakeholders need to be facilitators of peace process and conflict resolution.”
He called on youths to shun all forms of social vices and make peace their watchword everywhere they find themselves.
