In a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, the Governor expressed confidence that Ochor’s appointment would invigorate efforts to position Delta State as a premier tourism destination in Nigeria and beyond.

Ochor, with his proven leadership capabilities, is tasked with driving initiatives aimed at boosting the state’s economy through sustainable tourism practices.

The Tourism Board is expected to spearhead initiatives to preserve and promote Delta State’s unique cultural identity while attracting both local and international tourists. The board’s efforts will be instrumental in creating job opportunities, fostering economic growth, and enhancing the overall tourism experience in the state.

In his statement, Governor Oborevwori expressed his confidence that the newly appointed members would contribute significantly to the economic diversification of Delta State.

The Governor emphasized that the date for the official inauguration of the boards would be communicated in due course, as plans are set in motion to formally launch their mandates.

With experienced leaders at the helm, Delta State’s tourism sector is poised for a bright future, further solidifying the state’s position as a hub for cultural and ecological tourism in Nigeria.

It could be recalled that RT. Hon Ochor Christopher Ochor was the Deputy Speaker while the present Governor was the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly for four years.
