A young girl of about 18 years, Miss. Adaugo Uwaoma, has been battered by a group of hired street boys who accused her of kidnapping her own son. The street urchins were reportedly hired by her mother-in-law.
An eye witness account says the incident which took place at Osomalla in Ogbaru local government  area of Anambra state has brought enmity between the two in- laws.
Our source said that Miss Adaugo whose bride price  was yet to be paid by her husband gave birth to her baby boy in her father’s house where she would be taken care of.
The source also added that the supposed husband of Adaugo, Ikenna impregnated her and travelled to South Africa to pursue  greener pastures.
Emerald News gathered that the parents of the girl were not happy as their son in-law was not able to perform his marriage obligation fort their daughter before travelling outside the country.
Our source said that Adaugo carried the nine months pregnancy and gave birth to her baby in her father’s house in Onitsha.
Emerald News also learnt that her mother in- law, after few months of Adaugo delivering her baby, invited her to Osomalla to see her grand son.
Our source said that Adaugo innocently carried her son to her mother in-law in Osomalla.
On getting nearer to their house, a group of boys believed to be paid to harass Adaugo by her mother in – law waited for her on the road, collected her son, and started beating her, and injured her badly while accusing her of kidnapping her own son.
When the parents of Adaugo took police men to arrest Adaugo”s mother in-law, she ran away and her husband was arrested.
Adaugo’ s father in – law disclosed to the police men that his wife had not been happy as Adaugo stayed in her father’s house with her pregnancy and gave birth.
As at the time of filing this report, Adaugo”s mother in-law later reported herself to the police, claiming that her action was devil’s hand work.
