On Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s alleged disqualification

It has come to our notice the news of the alleged disqualification of our principal Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori FICMC, from the Delta State gubernatorial race of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ordinarily, a malicious, unfounded and evil hoax of that nature, concorted by enemies of the state who are shivering at the thought of having a new Sheriff in town, need not attract a response from us, but for the sake of the reading public and Deltans especially our ever-coorperating delegates and patriotic citizens who may be swayed by these falsehoods, we deem it necessary to state the facts as they are.

1. The Right Honourable Speaker of the most vibrant State Assembly in the country, Okakuro (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori FICMC was in Port Harcourt to appear before the South-South Gubernatorial screening committee of the PDP headed by no lesser personality than the Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Sen. Duoye Diri.

2. When it got to Oborevwori’s turn to be screened, he was asked to provide vital documents which included academic credentials and medical records which were all adjudged to be in order and genuine.

3. At the end of the exercise, our aspirant was duly cleared and given a clean bill of health to run for the exalted office of the governor of Delta State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

4. Thereafter, the convoy of the Speaker triumphantly headed for Asaba to await the coming of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scheduled to arrive Asaba today for the commissioning of several legacy projects of the governor, Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa as well as the empowerment program of the Minority Leader of the House of Representative, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu.

5. At the Asaba international airport this morning, the Speaker in the convoy of the Governor with legions of supporters, were on ground to receive the number one PDP member in the country, and participated actively in all of the events that took place today.

6. It is however pertinent to note that the purported news of the alleged “disqualification” of the Speaker is one of a legion of evil and lazy ploys of political weaklings who consistently shiver at the mere hearing of the name Sheriff in the race to Osadebe house.

7. We are hereby calling on Deltans and indeed our supporters to disregard the news of the alleged disqualification of our principal as a part of a well-orchestrated fictions of agents of doom who intend to win the PDP Primaries through the backdoor.

8. Come May 21st 2022, the Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori FICMC will not only appear in the ballot of the Delta State Gubernatorial Primaries as an Aspirant but a potential victor and flyer of the PDP flag in the general election.

10. We will continue to run an issue-based campaign devoid of mudslinging and vicious propaganda while we pitifully watch our opponents display their ravenous quest for power and destructive tendencies in a contest that ought to be strictly a family affair.
