Road users are currently without choice but to take alternative routes to their destinations from Udu local government area of Delta State following an accident involving a petrol truck.
It was gathered that the petrol-laden tanker fell on top of Udu bridge, spilling its content on the surrounding environment.
Road users and business persons under the Udu bridge have now begun to evacuate from the location over the fear of an explosion or fire.
The petrol tanker is said to have blocked the bridge, depriving road users of access to the Sedco area of the town.
Those returning from Ovwian, Owase, Jigbale axis have also been denied access following the spill.
It is not clear what led to the fall of the petrol tanker at the time of this report.
A source who was at the scene noted that there’s now a serious gridlock on top of the bridge.
