Discreet documents have revealed how British born nephew of the Asagba of Asaba, Dr. Leroy Edozien, who earlier denied being a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), actually was the party’s governorship candidate in the 2019 general election.
The United Kingdom trained medical doctor has maintained in political circles he was never a member of APGA but remained in the APC.
Emerald News, however, gathered that the double chieftaincy holder of the Asagba-in-Council was the official gubernatorial candidate of APGA in 2019.
Available documents revealed that Dr. Leroy Edozien duly deposed to sworn affidavit with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), while seeking to vie for the exalted office of Delta state governor in 2019.
In the affidavit dated November 5, 2018, Dr Edozien’s party membership number in APGA is 0005872.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the APC in Oshimili South has insisted that at no time did the APGA governorship candidate return to the party after his sojourn to APGA.
Emerald News learnt some party faithful in Oshimili South APC who felt deeply vexed by the misconduct and anti-party tendencies of Dr. Leroy Edozien have threatened to take Dr. Edozien, the Ubikankwu of Asaba to court.
When contacted, Dr. Edozien said a group of persons are running campaign of calumny against him, noting that for now he is not interested in the issues being raised but he is working on how to build the party in preparing for the forthcoming party registration and congress.
When asked whether he was a guber candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), he directed our reporter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to confirm the party he has been.
