Spare parts market in Asaba popularly known as Mami market was rowdy recently when some male traders pounced on one Mr. Chukwudi Ebele and left him battered.

An eye witness told Emerald News that the problem started when Mr. Ebele began to accuse his wife Mrs. Ifeoma Ebele of sleeping with her neighbours at the market.

Our source also said that Mrs. Ebele was a hard-working food vendor who got a large patronage by the spare parts dealers.

According to our source, Mr. Ebele who nursed some grudges about his wife took two men who claimed to be police officers and arrested his wife and her two sales girls.

An eye witness said that the two police men who arrested the woman and her sales girls were going to enter a Keke Napep when the spare parts dealers descended on Mr. Ebele and beat him mercilessly until some good Samaritans around the scene rescued him.

Our source told Emerald News that while Mr. Ebele was being beaten, the two police men disappeared.

Our source said that their disappearance convinced them that they were fake police men.

Emerald News gathered that Mrs. Ebele and her two sales girls went back to the business of the day.

The eye witness noted that Mr. Ebele was jealous of the wife because she is the bread winner of the family.

He also said that Mrs. Ebele was a decent woman who works hard to take care of her children.
