The Mayor of Urhoboland, His Excellency Eshanakpe Israel a.k.a Akpodoro has congratulated King Charles III of England on his recent coronation as king over the ancient Kingdom.

This was contained in a message written and personally signed by the Gbaregolor, Ughelli South Local Government area-born Mayor wishing the King a peaceful reign over his kingdom as he expressed hope of paying a royal visit to the King.

His Excellency called on the British Monarch to use his tenure to right the wrongs committed by the kingdom against the black Africans in the past by ensuring restitution is paid to those nations of the world where great forebears invaded and looted their resources in what he described as the most inhuman manner.

His Excellency noted that the campaign for restitution by the Western world is one of cardinal objectives of his mayoral leadership as he challenged King Charles to lead from the front by returning the Africa the heaps of stolen gold in Buckingham Palace.

He stressed further that human history particularly in the 18th,19th and 20th centuries were replete with how the British empire dehumanised the black race for want of criminal enrichment to which he called on King Charles to commence immediately the process of global healing adding that United Kingdom has no single gold mine but have the largest gold storage in the world.

Akpodoro, a vociferous voice from the South-South region of Nigeria said, while congratulate the king for the privilege to mount the throne of his great forebears he should be reminded that his progenitors inflicted both emotional pains in the minds of African children who grew from the ashes of embarrassing global imperialism championed by Great Britain.

The history of the Nigeria for instance, His Excellency noted is still fresh with the relics of colonialism pivoted by the British, a development he was transmitted by the British to neo colonialism stating that, “King Charles’ Kingdom must stop aiding and abetting crimes and criminalities in Africa by warehousing stolen monies originally meant for the development and growth in African nations.”

His Excellency seeks to meet with King Charles to discuss in details the need to mend ways with the new generation of African rather than living in pretence as if nothing happened.

“I once again congratulate you on your ascension of the throne of you great forebears but take note of all that were stated for you to make amend and possibly redirect the course of history. All stolen treasures from Nigeria nay Africa must be repatriated or restituted.” The Mayor stated as he called on the Nigerian government to lead Africa into a new era of recovery and promote human dignity.
