The Lagos state police command has ordered a total beef-up of security around motor parks in the state.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that this is coming on the heels of the indefinite suspension of the Lagos state chapter chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly called MC Oluomo, over alleged misconduct, insubordination, and inciting members of the state chapter against the apex body.
The Lagos state commissioner of police, Abiodun Alabi, on Thursday said he has directed all area commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to beef up security and maintain visibility in their area of coverage.
Alabi in an interview with Channels Television assured Lagos residents of adequate security of life and property.
The union also ordered Akinsanya to submit all of its properties in his possession. It is believed that the security beef-up is to prevent a possible break down of law and order which may arise.
