In the spirit of giving and motherly love,
the wife of Atani Monarch, Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, Odua Nwanyi Ngoddy organized a Christmas get- together for the children of Atani and others from neighbouring towns.
Odua Nwanyi in a goodwill message, at the Central School, Atani said the occasion has been an annual event for several years used to show compassion and love for children in the area, stressing that it is not because she is a wife of a traditional ruler or she has money more than others in the Community.
“Despite the fact that I live in overseas where corona virus is ravaging, and instead of managing how to escape the pandemic with my family, l continued to conteplate on how to feed the Atani Children at home. It is a wonderful experience to host our children today,” she said.
She prayed for Gods’ protection and wished the children good health, long life and success in their various carriers.
In his speech, the traditional ruler of Akili Ozizo, His Royal Highness, Igwe Lawrence Oduah described Children as the future hope, stating that it is worth doing to gather the Children at intervals
to give them food and make them happy.
The Monarch poured accolades on Odua Nwanyi Ngoddy and her husband for showing their spirit of philanthropy to the Children of Atani and entire Community, as he prayed God to bless them.
Also, Lady Victoria Ngoddy “Eziogilibuno” who organised this year’s get together on behalf of Odua Nwanyi Ngoddy disclosed that she was sent by Igwe and her wife, Odua Nwanyi to host the children and ensure they were well cartered for.
Lady Victoria Ngoddy disclosed that Igwe and his wife could not return to Nigeria this season as usual due to out break of second wave of corona virus pandemic.
She explained that the occasion was
successful and praised Odua Nwanyi Ngoddy and her husband for their kindness towards their ppeopl, recalling that Odua Nwanyi Ngoddy donated food items to the community during the lockdown era.
Similarly, an indigen of Ossamala and founder of Hope Foundation, Dr. Elizabeth Obiora “Ugocharacha” noted that what Odua Nwanyi is doing every year for the children of Atani is worthy commendable, urging other people to emulate her.
Earlier, the Parish Priest of St. Stephen Catholic Church Obosi and an indigen of Atani, Rev. Fr. Eloka Nwachukwu who conducted the opening prayer asked God to guide Odua Nwanyi Ngoddy and her husband, Igwe Augustine Azuka Ngoddy and continue blessing them.
He praised the couple for showing love to both the Children and adults of Atani community every year.
The Cleric advised the Children to be friend of Jesus Christ, reminding them that a person who is a friend of Jesus does not fight, steal or insult his or her elders.
According to him, “A friend of Jesus Christ is a person who goes to school and church on time and regularly, a person who listen to his or her parent’s advise and respects.
The Schools that attended the occasion included; St. Jude’s Nursery and Primary School Atani, Central School Atani, Urban School Atani, Augustina Nursery and Primary Atani, Central School Akili and numerous Children from neighbouring Communities.
