In addition to the innumerable groups that have declared their support for Prince Ned Nwoko, the Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, the Christian Political Leaders Forum (CPLF), Delta North branch, has also declared their support for Nwoko.
The group officially declared their support for Nwoko, during their visit to Mount Ned, Idumuje Ugboko, on Saturday, 31 December, 2022.
According to the coordinator, the group has been on ground for a period of two years, with over 40,000 members across the 25 local government areas in Delta state. The Convener of the group is, Rt.Hon Solomon Funkekeme.
Speaking, the coordinator said, “We are here to openly identify with Ned Nwoko. Our interest is for PDP to take back power from APC government, whose administration has rendered this country hopeless. We believe that the only party that can restore sanity in Nigeria is PDP, because they have the capacity and structure to do so, hence, we have avowed to vote PDP in all five political offices.
“Our mission is to champion other Christian bodies. We do this by moving from community to community, where we meet different churches and sensitize them on the importance of taking part in National elections.
“We’ve seen to the registration of over 27,000 voters, and we are still moving round to meet with other Christian bodies.
“We chose to support Ned Nwoko, because, we are certain that he will not go to the senate to represent party but the people. He is a good man. We are pleased with the testimonies we’ve heard about him and we hope that, him attaining this senatorial position we serve as an opportunity for him to do more good for the people.”
Addressing the group, Nwoko appreciated their support, and emphasised that, although he is contesting under PDP platform, his loyalty is for Nigerians and Anioma people, not just PDP.
He further urged the group to keep up with their 5/5 support for PDP, noting that he needs the complete team to be a productive senator.
