Most daughters in- law are suffering in the hands of their mothers in-law but not in this case as Mrs. Nwadogwa Okenwa has run away from her husband’s family house in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State while her son and daughter in-law take over the house.
An eye witness told Emerald News that Mrs. Okenwa did not like her first son’ s wife since her son married her as all of them were living in the family house.
Our source said that her daughter in-law complained bitterly to her friends and relatives how her mother in- law and her children would tell her husband to his face that he married a wife that his sisters were more beautiful and taller than.
Emerald News gathered that though the woman’s son and his wife were given a one room and palour self contain apartment in the family house, they all see themselves often.
Our source said that problem burst out after six months her daughter in-law was married and came to live with her husband in the family house as Mrs. Okenwa started complaining to her son that since he married his wife, that he has stopped giving her the gifts he used to give her before.
Emerald News gathered that from Mrs. Okenwa’ s complaints, her daughter in-law started to feel uncomfortable and unloved.
Our source said that Mrs. Okenwa got the support of her female children and decided to stop their wife’s friend from visiting her.
An eye witness said her daughter in-law was trying to convince her husband for them to leave their village for Awka town where her mother in-law would not be seeing her.
According to our source, as Mrs. Okenwa was blocking her daughter in-law’s friends from visiting her, one day, one of her daughter in-law’s close friends came knocking at their general gate, Mrs. Okenwa rushed out as usual to tell the visitor to go back as she didn’t want her daughter in-law’s friends to visit her.
Reports say her daughter in-law angrily came out of her apartment and opened the gate by force for her friend.
Emerald News gathered that as Mrs. Okenwa saw her son’s wife opening the gate, she jumped in front of her to stop her from opening the gate when her daughter in-law pushed her out of her front while her visitor entered through the gate.
Our source said that the next morning, Mrs. Okenwa packed her luggages and left her family house to one of her daughter’s house in Onitsha.
Our source said that Mrs. Okenwa for many years does not visit her husband’s family house.
The development has raised many questions amongst their kindred which no one could answer.
Our source said that her daughter in-law and her son were still confused about Mrs. Okenwa’ s decision of leaving her husband’ s house without coming even on festivities.
