I Will Remain Courageous
I want to use this medium to appreciate everyone that has tried to put up a conversation with me on what they “saw online”. I want to appeal that you do not pick offense over my deliberate refusal to take on that discussion.
My decision stems from the fact that if I had over the years been stopping since 1999 to throw stones at every barking dog, I would not have gone from a Personal Assistant in the government of Chief James Ibori in 1999, to a board member in 2003, Commissioner in the Local Government Service Commission in 2004, member, Delta State House of Assembly from 2007 to 2015.
In all these positions, to the glory of the Almighty God, I was always the first female from my area to so achieve.
Then eventually, I was promoted by my never-failing God to being a member of the Federal House of Representatives from 2015 to 2019, again the first female from Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency and now the Director General, Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, still to the glory of my very faithful God, the first woman.
Finally I want to thank the Almighty God for the grace of courage and fearlessness bestowed on me, to be able to fight back when I am threatened, which He mandated that Joshua must have in order to be able to lead His people and a divine requirement for the top.
Joshua 1: 5-9: “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
“Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
“Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Please take this statement for my unanswered calls and response to your sincere concern for me. May God give us all the grace to avoid distractions. In Jesus Christ Almighty name. Amen. 🙏
