Emotions flowed as a-4-year old youngster identified as Israel “Izzy” Scott who puts his fear of drowning into words finally drowns in Augusta, Georgia, U.S.
As gathered by Gistlover, the devastated mother, Dori Scott, said Israel had asked, “Mummy, what if I drown?”, before taking his beginner’s second swimming lesson which eventually led to his death in June.
The youngster’s death has prompted people to seek implementation of law that will protect children from drowning under instructors’ supervision.
Statements from the GoFundMe page in honour of Israel read, “We are determined that our sweet IZZY’s death, will not be in vain.”
“Izzy’s death has touched so many hearts, many people have reached out wanting to be a part of this process with us in honor of our Izzy.”
Dori said she was on vacation with her son when she thought it wise to book swimming lessons for him.
She said, although her son died under an instructor’s supervision, the Burke Sherriff Office said they don’t have enough evidence to prosecute the swim instructor.
