Prince Ned Nwoko, the PDP candidate for Delta North senatorial election has received a flurry of endorsement for the election coming up on February 25, 2023. With the flood of endorsement from members of his constituency, he appears to be the only candidate gunning for the election. Although there are other candidates in other parties, his name and campaign have dwarfed others and make them appear very unprepared for the senatorial race.
Traditional rulers, youth bodies, women groups, men and even members of some opposition parties have thrown their weight behind the candidacy of Prince Ned Nwoko. The people are of the belief that Ned Nwoko has the best criteria to represent the zone in the National Assembly. For as much as he has been in the lower chamber, they believe that he has the needed legislative ability to represent the senatorial district and make the necessary impact in the lives of the people.
Among all the candidates jostling for the position, the people of Delta North seem to have made their choice in Ned Nwoko ad have finalized their decision. This is due to the caliber of men and personalities of Anioma extraction who daily and regularly throng the mount Delta home of the Anioma prince. No other candidate in the senatorial district has the quality of acceptance and regard as Ned Nwoko has enjoyed since the commencement of campaigns. Youth groups, women groups, traditional rulers and others have powerfully supported his ambition to run for the senate.
One thing driving their love for the prince is that Nwoko is known to be a man of integrity. He stands by his words and does whatever he says. He has an approachable personality, he listens to people and finds means of helping people in need. It is also believed that Ned Nwoko, having been an already made man, he has no business stealing money meant for the development of his constituency. He is already a known billionaire. He is not going to the senate to amass wealth for himself.
He has already said that he is going to present a bill that will empower one million Nigeria youths with N50million in four years. He said he has discussed with the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and vice presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa, and they have given their nod to speed up the bill at the commencement of the new government in 2023. He has also promised different Anioma communities what he intends to do to change their present economic and social status.
There are issues in various communities which need the attention of the government. For instance, he has told the youths of Oko community in Oshimili south that he would mobilise the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the federal ministry of works to attend to the road leading to the Oko community. He told them that he does not speak what he will not do. That is Ned Nwoko, the incoming senator.
Based on his personality and integrity, the Anioma people are queuing heavily behind him. They believe in him. In him, they have seen a man who will represent the constituency and deliver the goods to the people. From Ndokwa to Ika, from Ika to Aniocha and from Aniocha to Oshimili, Ned Nwoko is seen as a unifier and a point of convergence for the people of Delta North.
His campaign train has gone round various communities and it was an avalanche of endorsement from community leaders, youths and others. The presence of his wife, Regina, added colour and glamour to the campaign train. His presence at the national assembly will bring a paradigm shift from the representation Anioma nation has had over the years since 1999. This is why any Anioma man or woman who has not queued behind Ned Nwoko is advised to so now.
