Newly appointed university SRC Mayor praises Western Delta University, says institution one of best in Nigeria

Newly appointed Mayor of the Students Representative Committee (SRC) of Western Delta University, Comrade Prince Kehinde Taiga, has described the university as one of the best higher institutions for learning in Nigeria.

Taiga, who is also president of Committee for the Defense of Human Rights (CDHR), said the university has some of the best lecturers who are well versed in their fields of knowledge.

According to Taiga, Deltans and Nigerian students seeking qualitative education would find Western Delta University a ready institution to meet their needs, just as he said the institution’s fees are affordable for the average Nigerian.

Comrade Taiga made the remark while delivering acceptance speech of his appointment as Mayor of the SRC of the university.

ACCEPTANCE SPEECH AS THE MAYOR SRC OF WESTERN DELTA UNIVERSITY OGHARA

The bursar
The Deans of Faculties
The Dean of Student Affairs
All other management team of our great institution, Distinguished Students, Esteemed Leaders, and Respected Members of the Western Delta University Oghara

It is with profound gratitude and humility that I stand before you today as the newly approved Mayor, Student Representative Committee SRC of our esteemed great institution, Western Delta University.

First and foremost, I want to thank the Almighty God for His grace, and to the Vice Chancellor for finding me worthy to be Mayor of our SRC, the Dean of Student Affairs for his kind recommendation and to other management team of Western Delta University for their support in making today a reality for me.
It is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together in unity of purpose.

As I assume this great responsibility, I am reminded of the critical role that peaceful coexistence plays in building a thriving community, as I believe that our strength lies in our unity.

This privileged position comes with the responsibility of aligning all students in making sure we join hands towards fostering an environment of mutual respect, understanding, and harmony. As students, we will rise above differences and embrace the values of teamwork and collaboration for the greater good of Western Delta University.

The vision of our school can only be achieved if we (most especially my fellow students) all play our part. I am certain that I will do all it takes to make every other student out there to cooperate fully with the students authority and support initiatives that promote academic excellence, personal development, and the overall welfare of our student. Together, we can transform challenges into opportunities and ensure that our time here leaves a legacy worth celebrating.

As the Mayor, I pledge to lead with transparency, dedication, and fairness. My administration will be guided by the principles of inclusiveness, accountability, and respect to the leadership of our great institution.

I am committed to representing your interests and working tirelessly to give the school and the student alike a leadership that is both worthy and honourable.

However, I can not do this alone. I need your collective support, ideas, and engagement. Let us keep the doors of communication open. Share your thoughts, voice your concerns, and stand with me as we take bold steps toward building a better Western Delta University.

I am confident that, with God on our side and with the unity of purpose we share, we will achieve great things. Let us move forward with hope, determination, and a renewed commitment to excellence.

Thank you once again for this privilege to serve. I am honoured, I am humbled, and I am ready to work for you and with you. Together, we will make a difference.
