Popular Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has said that Nigeria cannoy stay together if the authotities fail to decentralize governance or restructure the country.

Professor Soyinka expressed his views during an exclusive Interview by AriseTV News where he was asked if he thinks Nigeria could continue as one in thr middt of the challenges bedeveling the nation..

He said: “No, if it continues this way, no, if it fails to decentralize, some people use the word restructure. If the leadership fails to restructure, the nation cannot stsy together.

“If Nigeria fails to decentralize and I mean as soon as possible, manifestly not as rhetoric then Nigeria cannot stay together.”

Soyinka buttressed his opinion by adding that generals, politicians,:ex-head of states, analysts, economists and almost everybody has expressed this view beforehand.

The professor further added that the warning of the police and government against protest by citizens is no longer being adhered to because the people are tired.

“If a nation is on a suicide slide, the people who feel they do not deserve that kind of suicidal plunge, they have a right to say”sorry, I’m getting off this plane before it nosedives
