A cross section of Nigerians have warned the Eastern people of the country to desist from supporting the agitation for Biafra Republic by the controversial leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
While speaking to Emerald News, Mr. Blossom Ukatu said that the way Nnamdi Kanu is pursuing the course of Biafra is wrong.
Mr. Ukatu said that IPOB leadership lacked wisdom and patience while urging the group to agitate with a common sense and with clear vision.
In her own contribution, Lady Ndudi Ukala complained that the activities of IPOB in the South East have to grave security concerns in that region.
Lady Ukala said that Nnamdi Kanu and his team should devise a better means of achieving Biafra Republic and not through violence and uncultured statement.
She added that late Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu and Uwazuruike had in the time past, pursued the same course without achieving any goal.
Lady Ukala, however, advised the IPOB group to allow God to take over the desire of getting Biafra Republic as it’s only Him that could do it.
Also, Dr. Hugos Anderson told Emerald News that if care is not taken, IPOB would ruin the peaceful nature of Igbo land just like Boko Haram did in the North.
Dr. Anderson urged the leaders in the South East to sum up courage and control the excesses of IPOB to avoid regretting their existence in future.
“If IPOB activities are not aggressively checked, it might not turn out well at the end”, he added.
Other respondents who spoke to this medium concluded that IPOB should not pursue their course with do or die approach as it is only with the help of God through patience that can make their dream a reality.
According to the respondents, the activities of IPOB should be checked so that it doesn’t make the Eastern States unstable politically and economically.
