In a bid to revolutionize agriculture in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu state, chairmanship aspirant Hon. Calistus Maduka Njoku (aka Bishop) has announced an empowerment program for farmers.

The initiative, dubbed “Modern Agriculture for Sustainable Development,” aims to equip farmers with the necessary tools and knowledge to boost food production and improve their livelihoods.

Speaking at a recent town hall meeting, Hon. Njoku emphasized the importance of agriculture in Nkanu East, noting that it is the primary occupation of the majority of the population.

“Our people have always been farmers, and it is our duty to support and empower them to produce more and better,” he said.

The empowerment program will provide farmers with farm seeds, chemicals, grants, and other agricultural materials.

Hon. Njoku also unveiled plans to establish modern farming techniques and technology in the area, with the goal of making Nkanu East a leading food-producing hub in the state and beyond.

“We want to make Nkanu East a model for modern agriculture in Enugu State,” Hon. Njoku said.

“We will provide training and support to our farmers to ensure they are equipped to compete with their counterparts in other parts of the country.”

The program is expected to benefit thousands of farmers in Nkanu East, and Hon. Njoku has assured that it will be transparent and inclusive.

“We will work with all stakeholders to ensure that the program is successful and that everyone benefits,” he said.

With this initiative, Hon. Calistus Maduka Njoku has demonstrated his commitment to the development of Nkanu East and his passion for improving the lives of the people.
