Reports reaching our newsroom have indicated that security agents as usual have blocked roads leading to the federal high court where Nnamdi Kanu, leader of IPOB is being tried on Friday. He was brought to court for the continuation of his trial.
The road blocks mounted by the security agents is making impossible for people to have easy access to the court premises, reports say. It is also the usual practice of security officers to block the road any time the IPOB leader is being brought to court.
Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is expected to appear in court before Justice Binta Nyako today to resume the 15-count charge leveled against him by the Nigerian government.
Available reports revealed that security agents especially members of the Department of State Services and the police have barricaded roads to tighten security at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
A source around the court said: “All roads leading to the court premises have been barricaded by armed security officers. People including vehicles are restricted access round the court premises.”
Kanu’s trial days always witness a large security presence. This is not surprising, as the separatist leader has massive following both home and abroad.
