Prince Ned Nwoko, the Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, has condoled with the George Obiozor family, and the Igbo nation, over the demise of Professor George Obiozor, the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo, who died on Monday, 26 December, 2022, at the age of 80.
In a statement issued by Nwoko’s Director of media, Comrade Norbert Chiazor, Nwoko described Obiozor’s demise as huge national loss.
He said that Obiozor left when the country desired him the most.
The statement read in part;
” The transition of Professor George Obiozor, came to me as shocking and regrettable. He left at a time Nigeria desired him most, with his intellect, integrity and wisdom. No doubt, Obiozor’s death is a huge national loss. But we are consoled that he departed a fulfilled man ,with unforgettable legacies in nation – building, education and peaceful co-existence.
“On behalf of myself and family, I condole his immediate family, Imo state, the Igbo race and indeed Nigeria for the passing of a bold, honest and distinguished citizen.
“Obiozor as President-General of Ohanaeze led the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization with all gusto, in a unique manner that brought honour and pride to the Igbo ethnic nationality and inspired peace and unity among Nigerians of diverse backgrounds.
” He was a man of tremendous impact.
May God receive and grant his soul a peaceful rest.”
