Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has reiterated his administration’s dedication to fostering literary excellence, promoting intellectual engagement, and strengthening knowledge-driven communities.
Represented by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari, the governor noted that his government remains committed to backing initiatives that celebrate creativity, scholarship, and national development.
Speaking at the public presentation of Hallmarks of Labour, a new book authored by Izoma Philip Chikwuendo Asiodu, Governor Oborevwori emphasized the transformative power of literature in shaping values and inspiring future generations.
He added that Delta State takes pride in supporting platforms that recognize outstanding contributions to nation-building through the written word.
Delivering the governor’s remarks, Prof. Tonukari praised Asiodu for his remarkable contributions to Nigerian literature, describing the book as a reflection of diligence, commitment, and integrity. He further encouraged aspiring writers to continue pursuing excellence in their work.
The event, held Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Metropolitan Club in Victoria Island, Lagos, gathered distinguished guests and literary enthusiasts, including former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd.), who chaired the occasion.
Speakers at the ceremony also elaborated on the book’s central themes, highlighting Asiodu’s focus on virtues that underpin genuine achievement and national advancement.
