Lifeline came the way of residents of Ekakpamre Community in Ughelli South local government area of Delta State as the General Overseer of God’s Delight Gospel Assembly, Pastor JohnMark Ighosotu, distributed food items worth millions of naira to them to enable them celebrate the New Year in grandstyle.
The religious minister who hails from the community said that was his own way of giving back to the society and his people.
He expressed confidence that the gesture will not only put smiles on the faces of the people but will also act as a means of spreading the gospel of Christ which has been his life style.
Pastor JohnMark Ighosotu commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for successful implementation of his Smart and Prosperity agenda especially his empowerment schemes and urged him to expand it so that more persons could benefit from it.
Presenting the items to the beneficiaries in the six quarters in the communities, Pastor Ofioguma Onoriode urged the beneficiaries to look up to God who is able to meet all their needs.
Responding, Prof. Emannuel Emekpu, Mr. Obosomor Sagin and others commended Pastor JohnMark Ighosotu for the gesture, noting that the gesture was timely as most families could not celebrate Christmas due to economic hardship.
They promised to distribute the items equitably and prayed God to bless the donor for remembering them.
The beneficiaries called on other indigenes of Ekakpamre community to emulate Pastor JohnMark Ighosotu.
Food items presented to the residents include 12 live cows, bags of rice and salt.
