Pastor William Kumuyi, the general superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has urged God fearing youths to stand against what is wrong and defend the right.
Pastor Kumuyi spoke while ministering to youths during the global crusade holding at Urhobo College in Effurun Warri Delta state. He spoke to youths under the platform of Youth Impact Academy, a segment of the crusade devoted to the younger generation.
This is even as a professional photographer and a member of the church media team in Asaba, Shola Adebayo, presented a surprise portrait of the pastor to the general superintendent at the end of the event at Urhobo College in Effurun. The presentation drew cheers and applause from the youths.
Speaking on the topic “The Decision and Determination to Stand Out,” he called on youths to have the courage to stand for what is right and not remain indecisive in times of taking critical decisions of life.
In the gathering which drew students from all cities and towns in Delta state into the oil city, Pastor Kumuyi insisted that youths should not be indecisive, but firm and stand out from the crowd.
Using three Bible characters such as Joseph, Ruth and Daniel as examples of youths who stood out in their days of challenges, Pastor Kumuyi said the environment in which these men dwelt was not conducive but they remained firm and steadfast in their decisions for God.
“The Lord will give you the energy to stand out among the crowd. You must stand firm, stand strong and stand forever. Others have done it, you can do it,” Pastor Kumuyi, convener of the Youth Impact Academy, said.
Pastor Kumuyi, reputed for holiness preaching, noted that for youths to stand out and firm, they must have unshaking conviction that cannot be shaken by situations around them.
He also called on youths to have dreams, saying it is dreams that drive their convictions. He said convictions are built on dreams.
He said: “You should not be afraid because people do not agree with uour dream. Despite people’s disagreement with your dreams, stand out on your convictions. Dreamers do not run away from challenges. When your dream takes possession of you, you are up to success.
“When God gives you a dream and powers around you want to kill the dream, nobody can kill you until your dream is fulfilled. Nobody can kill a dream given to you by God.
“A dreamer will not allow the pleasures of the world to take away the dream. Your dream should guide your life. Never forget your dream. Your dream creates your conviction.”
During the event, youths drawn from the Deeper Life High School and others made different presentations to show their talents and gifts.
Highlights of the Youth Impact Academy was presentation of a portrait of Pastor Kumuyi which was initiated and produced by Shola Adebayo, a senior photographer with the Deeper Life Bible Church in Asaba and chairman of photographers association in Oshimili south local government area of the state.
The unveiling of the portrait drew thunderous applause from the youths who clapped their hands and were amazed at the skill put together by Adebayo for the production of the portrait.
