Delta North chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Moses Iduh, on Wednesday called on the newly appointed Chief of Defense Staff, Major General Lucky Irabor to bring his wealth of experience and expertise to bear in nipping in the bud, the problem of insecurity in Nigeria.
Iduh, who congratulated Irabor, said that his appointment was a call to upping the ante in tackling the insecurity challenges bedeviling the country.
While noting that insecurity challenge in the country was almost assuming a dangerous dimension across the states of the federation, he urged Irabor to synergise with other security agencies in launching a massive onslaught against the monster, which has made every Nigerian
irrespective of social, religious, political or economic status, a prey.
He noted that it was almost becoming impossible for Nigerians to travel freely from one part of the country to another on the roads without fear of possible attacks, ranging from robbery, killing to kidnapping for ransom by dare devils who operate under different disguise. “The level of insecurity is becoming alarming”, he added.
The Delta North chairman assured Irabor and other newly appointed Service Chiefs of Nigerians’ prayers to enable them succeed in this onerous task. “You have to work very hard in this task not only to write your name in the sand of time but also represent Delta state positively. Knowing that you are one of our own, you cannot afford to
fail.
“If you fail, it means Delta has failed. If you fail, Delta North will be mocked. If you fail, the Ika nation has failed. But we have confidence in God to grant you success in all ramifications. We pray
the Almighty God to give you the protection, wisdom and wherewithal to succeed in this herculean task”, he prayed.
Iduh called on all Nigerians to give the new service chiefs the needed supports to enable them succeed in the fight against insecurity, insurgents and terrorism, adding that everyone has a role play in the fight against insecurity by providing relevant information that will aid them in their work of safeguarding lives and property as no one was immune to attacks by these devils.
