Earlier today, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR and Dr Gilbert Onyekachukwu Ibezim were officially sworn into power as the Executive Governor and Deputy Governor of Anambra State by the Chief Judge of the State, Hon Justice Onochie.
The Governor was in company of his beloved wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo and children while the Deputy Governor was joined with his wife, Lady Oluchi Ibezim.
In his official address, the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof Soludo extended his gratitude to everyone who was present at the inaugural event.
He stated he will be commencing work immediately after the inauguration and has an estimated 8 hours to spend in the office.
He informed the audience that he will be signing an Executive order to suspend revenue collection from markets and parks for the next 4 weeks and shall introduce a new system of how taxes shall be collected.
He also said that local government elections will be conducted, his principal officers will be announced later in the day while newly appointed commissioners shall be made known next week.
The immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Chief Dr Willie Obiano, Former Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi, National Chairman of APGA, Ozonkpu Victor Oye, Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly, Rtd Hon Uche Victor Okafor, Sen Victor Umeh, Pat Utomi were dignitaries present among others.
