The Plateau state House of Assembly member, representing Langtang North Central, and Chairman house committee on health, Mr . Nanbol Daniel, says he sponsored eight bills and co sponsored five others within his two and half years in office.
The lawmaker, noted that some of the bills he co-sponsored include a bill for a law to prohibit kidnapping, hostage taking and payment of ransom to kidnappers.
The legislator made the revelation public in Jos, Plateau state on Sunday, he revealed that he also moved and supported over 20 motions aimed at impacting on lives of citizens in the state.
The health committee chairman informed that the 9th assembly which he is a member, had done a lot of work in terms of bills, motions, oversight and representation.
“But the central concern is to better the lives of the people. And to achieve that the legislature needs to work with the judiciary and the executive.
“Legislature is not a one man show, it is a team work. In the case of Plateau State House of Assembly, it is team work of 24 people.
“It is not only what you are doing that you count, your contribution to what others are doing also counts,’’ he stated.
The lawmaker informed journalists that the bills he sponsored include a bill for a law to establish the Plateau State Drugs Management Agency and other matters related, 2020 (Passed in PLHA).
“Others are; a bill for a law to provide for the establishment of Plateau State Health Management Information System and for other Matters Connected, 2020 (Passed in PLHA).
“A bill for a law to establish the Plateau State Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicine (TCAM) Board and other matters related, 2020 (Passed in PLHA).
“A bill for a law to establish the Plateau State Social Protection Unit (PLASSOPUT) and Other Matters Related, 2020 (Passed first reading, passed second reading, public hearing conducted, and committee report presented).
“A bill for a law to provide for the registration and regulation of Community Development Association and Allied Association in Plateau State and other matters related, 2020 (Passed first and second reading. Public hearing conducted) among others.
“And a bill for a law to provide funding support to approved Faith Based Institutions in Plateau State and other matters connected, 2020 (Passed first and second reading. public hearing conducted) among others,” he listed.
