Police burst cult hideout, discover ammunition behind uncompleted used for church
Police in Delta state have bursted hideout of cultists in Oghara in Ethiope west and Okpanam area of Oshimili North local government areas of Delta state.
In a statement by the police public relations officer, Bright Edafe, the police said 15 male cultists were arrested with a female accomplice among them in Olpanam.
In Oghara area, 15 suspected cultists were arrested following intelligence report leading to the raid of their hideout from where they organise thei terrorism in the community.
The breakthrough followed the raid led by SP Christopher Igbsja, head of state anti-cultism unit SACU. He got information of a notorious cult group hideout in Oghara. They were roundly arrested. The cult is Aye Confraternity.
In Oghara, wraps of cocaine were discovered among them.
In Okpanam, they were arrested in the bush while preparing for the initiation of new members. The raid resulted in whisking away 15 male suspects while one female suspect was also arrested.
In another development, police discovered a cache of arms with 15 round of ammunitions behind uncompleted building used as a worship centre in Warri/Sapele road
According to the police, they were dropped by men of the underworld to aid their nefarious activities. The police PRO said investigation is ongoing..
