Deputy Chief Imam of Osogbo, Haroon Adediran, on Wednesday passed on to glory at the age of 87.
The deceased, who reportedly died after a brief illness, was later buried in Osogbo in accordance with Islamic rites.
Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in a statement signed by his press secretary, Ismail Omipidan, expressed shock at the passage of the cleric, saying the late Adediran lived a pious and exemplary life that was devoted to the service of Allah and humanity.
“Sheikh Haroon was a friend and supporter of our administration and always offered us wise counsel. He will be greatly missed. I pray Allah to forgive his shortcomings and admit him into Aljanah Firdaus.”he said.
