Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reaffirmed his commitment to working cooperatively with members of the state’s House of Assembly as part of efforts to strengthen governance and deliver benefits to citizens.
In remarks delivered on 25 February 2026, Fubara congratulated the winners of recent legislative bye-elections Ukalikpe Napoleon and Bulabari Henrietta Loolo who secured seats representing Ahoada East and Khana State Constituency II, respectively, in elections conducted on 21 February 2026 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Describing the elections as a positive demonstration of democratic participation, the governor commended the successful candidates for their victories and urged them to honour the trust placed in them by voters.
“It is the beauty of democracy. When the people believe in your capacity, they will give you their votes,” he said, adding that he looked forward to “working with them and their colleagues in the Rivers State House of Assembly for the progress of our state.”
Fubara also praised the electorate in Ahoada East and Khana for the peaceful conduct of the polls, highlighting orderly behaviour before, during and after voting as a sign of growing democratic maturity in the region.
