Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, joined other dignitaries and top security officials on Monday, October 28, 2025, to celebrate the promotion of Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) Mohammed Dankwara to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG). The official decoration ceremony, according to our correspondent, highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership within the Nigeria Police Force.

In his congratulatory message, Senator Dafinone lauded DIG Dankwara for his professionalism, discipline, and unwavering commitment to national service. He described the promotion as a well-deserved recognition of Dankwara’s years of outstanding performance and contributions to the security and stability of the nation. The senator also commended the Police Service Commission for its continued emphasis on merit and excellence in its promotion procedures.

“Congratulations to DIG Mohammed Dankwara on this well-earned promotion, which reflects not only his personal achievements but also the values of integrity, dedication, and professionalism that define the Nigeria Police Force,” Senator Dafinone said. “This elevation is a testament to his consistent service and exemplary leadership over the years.”

Popularly known as the “Super Senator” by his constituents, Dafinone expressed confidence that DIG Dankwara would continue to uphold the highest standards of policing in his new role. He emphasized that effective leadership at the senior level of the Force is vital to strengthening public confidence and ensuring the protection of lives and property nationwide.

Senator Dafinone extended his heartfelt congratulations once more to DIG Dankwara, wishing him success as he takes on greater responsibilities in the service of Nigeria. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting policies and initiatives that promote professionalism, discipline, and accountability within the country’s security system.
