Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central in the National Assembly, has praised the newly launched National Counter-Terrorism Centre Strategic Plan (2025–2030), describing it as a major advancement for Nigeria’s security system and national stability.
Speaking in Abuja at the official unveiling ceremony, the senator joined the Senate President, senior security officials, and other national stakeholders for the launch of the comprehensive roadmap.
The event, led by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), convened security experts, policymakers, and key partners to outline a coordinated strategy for tackling terrorism and violent extremism nationwide.
Senator Dafinone noted that the strategic plan places strong focus on enhanced intelligence sharing, improved operational capabilities, and community-driven peacebuilding—measures he considers essential in addressing the country’s evolving security threats.
“This is a commendable development and a significant step toward strengthening Nigeria’s security framework and our national resilience,” he said.
Reaffirming his dedication to national safety, the lawmaker pledged continued support for initiatives that safeguard citizens and promote peace across all regions.
“I remain committed to backing programmes that protect our people and reinforce the systems that keep our nation secure. Working together, we can build a safer, more resilient Nigeria,” he added.
The release of the 2025–2030 Strategic Plan signals what observers describe as a renewed, unified effort to boost Nigeria’s counter-terrorism capabilities and deepen collaboration among security agencies, communities, and government institutions.
