Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has welcomed Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to the groundbreaking ceremony of the Otovwodo Flyover in Ughelli, describing the project as a major milestone in the state’s urban and economic transformation.
In a statement released on Monday, the Senator praised the governor for what he described as a bold and visionary approach to infrastructure development across Delta State, noting that the ongoing projects reflect a commitment to progress that cuts across political divides.
Dafinone said the Otovwodo Flyover would play a critical role in easing traffic congestion at one of Ughelli’s busiest junctions, thereby improving mobility for residents, businesses, and commuters.
According to him, the project will significantly reduce travel time, enhance safety, and boost commercial activities by facilitating the smoother movement of goods and people.
He added that the flyover, alongside other infrastructure projects being executed across the state, is expected to strengthen Delta Central’s attractiveness to investors and reinforce Ughelli’s position as a key commercial hub in the state.
The lawmaker commended Governor Oborevwori for fulfilling his campaign promises through the implementation of the “MORE” Agenda, which he said is delivering tangible development and improving the daily lives of residents through better road networks, accessibility, and public safety.
Senator Dafinone also called on residents of Delta Central and the wider Delta State to continue to support the Oborevwori administration, stressing that peace, unity, and cooperation are essential for the timely completion of development projects and the achievement of sustainable growth.
He further urged Deltans to remain supportive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that efforts at both the federal and state levels are focused on stabilising the economy and rebuilding critical infrastructure to ensure long-term national development.
The Otovwodo Flyover is one of several strategic infrastructure projects aimed at improving transportation and economic activity across Delta State.
