As Nigeria marked this year’s Children’s Day, Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan issued a heartfelt call for renewed national commitment to the protection and empowerment of children, describing them as the nation’s “most precious asset.”
In a press statement commemorating the annual celebration, the senator highlighted the urgent need to address the challenges facing Nigerian children—particularly girls—including bullying, violence, and exploitation.
She emphasized that safeguarding the well-being of young people must be a collective responsibility.
Quoting the president’s message, Senator Akpoti encouraged all Nigerians to stand against bullying and support children in pursuing their dreams.
“We must build a society that uplifts our children and motivates them to reach for the highest levels of their potential,” she said.
The senator also stressed the importance of investing in education, healthcare, and opportunities for growth, identifying these areas as key to unlocking the potential of the next generation.
“By prioritizing these essentials, we secure a brighter future for our country,” she added.
In a message of hope to Nigerian children, Senator Akpoti reassured them of her commitment: “I believe in you, I care about you, and I am dedicated to building a society that respects and protects your rights. Dream big, work hard, and never stop believing in your goals.”
She concluded by urging all Nigerians to unite in building a nation where every child is safe, supported, and empowered to thrive.
