Senator Ned Nwoko has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Delta North Senatorial District and the wider Delta State to actively participate in the party’s ongoing electronic membership registration and revalidation exercise, describing it as a critical step toward strengthening the party’s grassroots base and internal democracy.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the lawmaker said the exercise represents “an important moment for reflection and renewal” for the APC, noting that accurate membership data and broad-based participation are essential for building a credible and effective political organisation.
“A political party can only be as strong as its grassroots,” Nwoko said, stressing that transparent processes and inclusive participation form the foundation of electoral credibility and responsive leadership.
According to him, the digital registration drive offers both existing members and new supporters the opportunity to formally affirm their commitment to the party’s ideals and future direction.
He encouraged long-standing APC supporters who have not yet been captured in the party’s records to use the exercise to regularise their membership, while also welcoming Nigerians newly attracted to the APC’s agenda of national renewal and economic reform.
“This is the time to be counted,” the senator said, adding that the e-registration platform provides a lawful and structured pathway for new entrants to become active stakeholders in the party.
Nwoko further linked the success of the exercise to the broader goal of strengthening Nigeria’s democratic institutions, arguing that a party with strong internal systems is better positioned to deliver on its promises to the electorate.
“As a party, we must continuously strengthen our internal systems if we are to deliver on our promises to the Nigerian people,” he said, highlighting unity of purpose and citizen engagement as key drivers of sustainable development.
The senator also reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national leadership of the APC, pledging continued collaboration to consolidate democracy, deepen governance reforms, and promote meaningful development across Delta North and Nigeria at large.
The APC is currently rolling out the electronic registration and revalidation exercise nationwide as part of efforts to update its membership database, expand participation, and enhance internal transparency ahead of future political activities.
