Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, representing Delta North and Chancellor of Sports University of Nigeria, was the Special Guest of Honour at the Command Day Secondary School Abuja 16th Annual Inter-House Sports Competition. The event took place on February 18 at the Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment Sports Complex, Abuja.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Michael Nwoko, the senator applauded the students, teachers, and military personnel for organizing a vibrant and competitive event. He emphasized the significance of sports in shaping young minds, fostering teamwork, discipline, and resilience.

“I am honored to be here today as the Special Guest of Honour. The enthusiasm and energy in the atmosphere are truly remarkable. Sports play a vital role in physical and mental well-being while also teaching important life values. Regardless of who wins or loses, the most important lesson is sportsmanship, hard work, and team spirit. You are all champions,” he stated.

Senator Nwoko also commended the teachers and organizers for their dedication in ensuring a successful event, as well as the military officers for their commitment to providing a well-rounded education that incorporates sports and physical activities.

Dr. Michael Nwoko further elaborated on Senator Nwoko’s vision for sports development in Nigeria, stating that the Sports University of Nigeria is open to partnering with the school to identify and nurture young talents.
