The Commissioner representing the Ijaw ethnic nationality on the board of DESOPADEC, Hon. Spencer Okubo Okpoye, has congratulated Governor Sherrif Oborevwori and his Deputy Governor, H.E. Sir. Monday Onyeme, on their legal victory at the Supreme court.

In a statement following the Supreme Court’s decision, Okpoye praised Governor Sherrif’s tenacity during the March 18th gubernatorial election as well as the tenacious effort of PDP members across Delta State.

He further stated: “The recent affirmation by the Supreme Court in favor of the governor validates the mandate of Deltans who cast their votes for the PDP and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.”

He emphasized that “Deltans have clearly expressed their will through their votes, and today’s judicial pronouncements further affirmed Governor Oborevwori’s victory in the 2023 governorship poll.”

Recognizing Governor Oborevwori’s exceptional record and noteworthy accomplishments as the immediate past Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, the DESOPADEC Commissioner highlighted that Deltans have unflinching faith in his mandate.

Okpoye added& “This is the personification of democracy and the rule of law that we are seeing today. A record number of Deltans cast ballots in the March 18th election, electing H.E. Rt. Hon. Elder Sherrif F.O. Oborevwori to serve as the state’s executive governor.
