Tanker fire: Disturbing photos of dark Sunday in Agbor

Tanker fire: Disturbing photos of dark Sunday in Agbor

Boji Boji Agbor metropolis in Delta State, on Sunday witnessed a dark Sunday as a Tanker laden with Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), popularly referred to as Diesel, lost control, crashing into the road concrete demarcation and bursting into flames, killing three persons and setting two bank buildings, several shops, and cars ablaze.

The unfortunate incident which occurred at about 12noon saw the ever-busy former Mobil Traffic Light Area thrown into pandemonium. It took the intervention of the Chairmen of Ika North East Local Government Area, Hon Hunkamma Monday Odigwe and his Ika South counterpart, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, a combined team of the security agencies in the two local government areas to mobilize the fire fighting service in Agbor, Issele Ukwu, Asaba and the teeming public spirited individuals to put out the inferno which lasted more than three hours.

First Bank Agbor, Access Bank Agbor buildings were among the buildings touched by the fire. The identities of the casualties of the mid – day inferno were yet to be identified as at press time.
