A video captured the moment a woman who crashed through the ice while driving on a frozen river in the outskirts of Ottawa took some selfies as nearby residents dragged over a kayak to rescue her from the roof of her sinking car.
In the video, the woman could be seen taking pictures of herself as she stands on top of her yellow sedan as it sank under the ice of the frozen Rideau River in the suburb of Manotick Sunday afternoon.
She appeared calm and patient as her car slowly sinks more and more into the river.
Fortunately, she was pulled out to safety by two nearby residents before the remaining part of the car sank.
The video saw two people hauling a blue kayak toward the scene of the accident. The woman gets on top of it and is pulled out to safety via a rope tied to the watercraft.
After standing on a solid ground, the woman said; “Oh well. I guess I’ll walk.”
