A 33-year-old man identified as Chineye Nwakaego from Imo state has been arrested while attempting to steal a Toyota Camry car in Asaba on June 25, 2021.
The owner of the vehicle, a lady had parked the car at Regina Mundi by Ogbe-Ogonogo market to pick her children from school when the suspect attempted to steal the car.
The suspect, Chinenye was able to unlock the car with the help of an improvised vehicle door opener but couldn’t move the car immediately because the steering was locked.
As he was struggling to unlock the steering, the owner of the vehicle came out and raised alarm which drew the attention of people.
The suspect was almost being mobbed byt for the timely arrival of police patrol team from “A” Division.
The suspect has been arrested and investigation is still ongoing.
