Two persons have so far been confirm dead of electricution as total blackout hit Ogbaru
local government area of Anambra State.
The total blackout hitting the Ogbaru was as the council chairman Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu directed EEDC to disconnect flood affected areas.
The flood situation in Ogbaru local government area has reached emergency level with fear of more disasters hitting the affected areas.
The sewage pits have been ripped open by the flood as concerns for possible out break of epidemics seem rife, the fear of electroution has also risen following reports of fallen electric poles.
Hon. Awogu has directed EEDC to save the people from more disaster by disconnecting areas that have been badly affected by the raging flood.
He gave the directive after inspecting some power installations that have been submerged in some of the communities with threats of mass electrocution.
The council chairman also appealed to both federal and state ministries of health to respond urgently to the health challenges posed by the flood.
Meanwhile, the schools in local government area have been closed for the period as the flood has taken over the schools in the areas.
