I read a story of an already airborne aircraft that had to turn back so that a mother could be re-united with her baby whom she had forgotten at the waiting area of the airport.
The story was of a Malaysia-bound plane that had to turn back to Saudi Arabia after a passenger realised she had left her baby in the terminal.
The pilot, en route to Kuala Lumpur, made the unusual request to the passengers asking them for permission to return to the airport in Jeddah shortly after take off when the passenger told cabin crew she had forgotten her child The plane had left Saudi Arabia. The passengers were stunned but had to agree.
They agreed because it was not a bag or shoes or wrappers, it was a baby forgotten by a mother at the airport terminal before the plane took off.
Initially, I couldn’t wrap my head around it! A mother forgot her baby at the waiting area of an airport and didn’t remember until her flight was airborne?
Then I remembered that as hard as that was to comprehend, it was a possibility!
“Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget…” Isa.49:15
Wow! When that scripture came to mind, that news became more bearable for me.
A mother-child chord is about the strongest human connection on earth. But as that woman had proven, it could suffer a momentary disconnect!
God says, but as for Him, He will never forget you because He has you inscribed on the palm of His hands (v15c&16).
– Single and can’t see marriage on the horizon?
– A career that seems to be heading nowhere?
– An impossible boss?
– A tempestuous marriage?
– A depressing medical report?
– An infertility challenge?
– Unemployment or a protracted joblessness?
Do not despair. In spite of your feeling, please know that you are not suffering a ‘divine neglect’! God’s got your back! He’s on the lookout for you!
