The leadership of the Ukoko re Ighere re Urhobo UPU youthwing has sent commendations to Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta state for yielding to the voice of reason and terminating the protracted electricity contract in Mosogar, Ethiope west local government area of the state.
Recall that the president of the UPU youthwing Comrade Umukoro Efemena Kelly and its publicity secretary, Prince Ukuanovwe Godstime joined indigenes of Mosogar town recently in protest over the total black out in Mosogar that has lingered for about eight years.
In a statement released by the UPU youthwing publicity secretary Ukuanovwe and signed by Umukoro, the union eulugised Governor Okowa for yielding to voice of reason and terminating the electricity contract in the community.
The union went further to call on the Delta state government to re-award the said contract to a more competent hand who’s far away from some known elements in Mosogar community.
According to Umukoro, the state government should monitor the project closely to lay the matter of black out in Mosogar to rest.
Also recall that the president of the UPU youthwing flanked by its publicity secretary and secretary general addressed same matter of electricity in Mosogar in a live interview with ReroTV just few days ago and accused a senator of complicity.
He said someone who cannot agitate for his community for restoration of light cannot be Urhobo Senator nor represent Urhobo in any forum.
The union condoled with the entire people of Mosogar on the passage of their king whom they described as a father to all and prayed for the repose of his soul.
