As part of traditional rites and to inform the Jikwoyi’s kingdom that Urhobo youth leaders are in town, I decided to lead my executive to pay a courtesy visit on the Royal Palace of Jikwoyi Palace in Abuja Municipal Area Council.
I had the singular honor to meet with His Royal Majesty, Dr. Bawa S. Jetta. We engaged him meaningfully and thanked him for the show of love to Urhobo people in his kingdom.
The monarch was excited to see Urhobo youth executives properly dressed in their cultural clothings. The monarch took out time to advise Urhobo youths on the need for us to be detribalised and see everyone as One Nigeria saying that through this unity, love and harmony can be achieved.
He used Dr. Rufus Ebegba as an example saying that though he isn’t from his kingdom, he is the President General of All landlords in the neighbourhood and that Dr. Rufus has been a good Ambassador of Urhobo nation in his kingdom. He sent his greetings to the Royal homes of Urhobo nation and equally prayed for us.
Indeed, it was an honor to have a moment with his Majesty. We are blessed. We are Urhobo people.
As the ethnic youth president, I took out time to appreciate the monarch for his deep love and acceptance of Urhobo people in his kingdom and we wish him longer days on the throne.
Let’s stay the focus
