Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North, has said his focus remains clear—to represent Anioma, Delta North, and Nigeria with dedication, integrity and vision.
He pledged that together with his colleagues, the Senate would continue shaping laws that promote progress, unity, and a better future for all.
The lawmaker made this known as the Senate resumed plenary after its annual recess, describing the return to legislative duties as “a moment to return to duty with fresh energy, deeper reflection, and a renewed sense of purpose.”
At the first sitting after the break, the Senate passed the Federal Medical Centres (Amendment) Bill, 2025 for third and final reading, concurring with the version earlier approved by the House of Representatives.
Six new bills also scaled first reading, while the Bill for an Act to amend the Nigerian Passport (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act passed second reading and was referred to relevant committees for further legislative action.
In his welcome address, President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Nigerians on the nation’s 65th Independence anniversary. He also commended the administration’s economic policies, describing them as critical to strengthening growth and improving citizens’ welfare.
Senator Nwoko reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation, emphasizing that the legislative arm must continue to enact laws that advance national development, unity, and prosperity.
