After 30 straight days of ribbon-cutting, flag-offs, and site inspections, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has finally traded his hard hat for a sun hat.
The workaholic minister has officially embarked on a well-deserved vacation, his spokesperson Lere Olayinka confirmed via X on Monday.
“Holiday time for Nyerisi. He is somewhere in the world, relaxing,” Olayinka posted, adding that Wike spent over a month commissioning projects, flagging off new ones, and inspecting ongoing works—especially those slated for commissioning in December and January.
The marathon work spree saw Wike crisscrossing Abuja, reviewing roads, public facilities, and satellite town developments—all part of his aggressive infrastructure push since taking office in August 2023.
But even the most relentless public servant needs a breather. Olayinka noted that the minister has now “taken time off to relax” after the grueling schedule.
Wike’s vacation comes as the FCT Administration continues to push forward with projects scheduled for commissioning in the coming months. For now, though, Abuja’s busiest man is off the grid—somewhere in the world, catching his breath.
