Mrs Tina Ugbonaya, the woman accused of withholding her worker’s 5-month-old baby, Chidubem has shared her own side of the story.
It would be recalled that Gift, the mother of the baby who later died, alleged her baby was seized by her boss over failure to clear a debt.
According to her, her baby was locked in a room alone by Mr and Mr Ogbonnaya and laid on the tiled floor bare-bodied.
Now Mrs Tina has shared her own side of the story in an interview with Punch.
According to her, Gift gave birth to her child in June this year.
She added that although the child was born healthy, he lacked maternal care from Gift.
The woman added that Gift abandoned her baby one month after giving birth, claiming that her uncle enrolled her for WAEC examination.
Going further, Mrs Tina alleged that after the child was born, Gift refused to give the child food or even breastfeed the baby and she later fled her home because she and her husband insisted she must take care of her child.
While denying holding the child captive, the woman claimed that she took the baby boy to a nurse to take care of as he had emaciated due to Gift’s negligence and that she also paid the nurse N30, 000 to take care of the baby.
Her husband who also spoke corroborated her claims that Gift neglected her child.
